Sunia has been providing electrical services to Auckland for nearly 25 years and running Soul Power Electrical since 2009.
Sunia was 30 years old when he started his electrical apprenticeship. Studying with two young boys was a challenge but he is forever thankful he was given the opportunity.
Based in Sandringham, and servicing the major Auckland area, Sunia is proud to have created a solid client base that continues to grow each year. Sunia and his team are committed to providing professional, friendly service to every customer by maintaining high standards of workmanship and following up every job to ensure the result is satisfactory.
Supporting the community has always been important to Sunia. In typical Sunia fashion he's done that with a little bit of soul. Things like Christmas lights at Edendale primary school, helping out at the Griblehurst repair cafe, sponsoring kids rugby gear at Eden Rugby and a rugby coach for years. Being the only Tongan business owner in the NZ Trade Group he is passionate about supporting talented Pasifika youth to achieve their dreams of becoming qualified electricians. He's qualified a few now and continues to support the Māori and Pacific pre-trades course at Unitech with apprenticeship opportunities.
Sunia is happy to be fulfilling his dream of ‘bringing power to the people’ with support from his wife Sonya and their two sons, Jack and Riley. Sunia has always got the boys involved in the business with school holiday work and installing Christmas lights every year on their Sandringham home so it’s not surprising they are both now apprentice electricians and working for Soul Power.
